No, this is not the old-fashioned tale of sneaking out the window with your suitcase in the cover of darkness.
An elopement is a private affair, generally consisting of the couple, two witnesses and perhaps the parents (6-10 people). It is held in a private setting of your choice such as a park, beach, cafe etc or even in my beautiful garden (weather permitting). This is ideal for a couple that wishes to not have to trek into the CBD to a formal Registry Office setting. The ceremony is of course personalised according to the couple’s wishes and once the legalities are over you can then celebrate as you choose with either just each other or waiting guests at a restaurant, winery or venue. Some people like to choose this option and surprise their guests when they walk in as a married couple. This is also a great alternative for couple’s who may not wish to be the centre of attention or would like to exchange their vows privately.
It can be just the couple and I can provide witnesses should this be required. I must make mention that the legal requirements of a minimum of one month’s notice according to law must be met (unless there are special circumstances which must meet certain requirements).
