FUNERALS, MEMORIAL SERVICES, ASH SCATTERING CEREMONIES
A funeral is a custom associated with the burial, cremation, etc of a person who has passed away. It is traditionally used by a culture to remember and respect your loved one or someone that touched your life. I take great pride in honouring the memory of your loved one respectfully and to the family’s wishes. The memories you share will be produced into a memorial of their life as you would want them remembered. Being able to farewell someone with honour and respect for the life that they lived is paramount in my thoughts when preparing for the funeral for them. This can be a difficult time for all concerned so please be assured that knowing that I am being entrusted to create a special memory of Celebration of Life on such an important day fills me with such pride.
This ceremony is a time where family and friends can join together to witness various tributes, monuments and/or prayers, and rituals such as candle lighting undertaken in honour of the person who has passed. Often the family will provide photographs for a visual reflection of their loved one. Commonly funerals are for celebrating their life, remembering the deceased and offering support and sympathy to the bereaved.
An ash scattering ceremony can be a private affair and can be performed with a small gathering of loved ones and family at a place of significance to the deceased. This ceremony can include poetry, readings and music plus a tribute of the person’s life as told to me by the person’s family and/or loved ones away from the formal setting of a funeral. This can be held a long period of time after the initial pain and sorrow of the persons passing occurred and can be a respectful rejoicing of their life.
