Wonderful Winter Weddings

Well a busy few months for me. I was contacted by a friend to ask if I would be interested in doing a wedding for a friend of hers who now resides in Hong Kong, My first International wedding and also my first SS wedding. And although it is not politically correct of me to delineate a couple by calling them ‘Same Sex’ it was a very important milestone for me. It was interesting communicating and organizing a wedding from overseas mainly via email and Whatsapp, and very educational for me with regards to verifying documentation etc. Whilst in communication with this couple the groom asked me if I would be interested in marrying another couple that same week who would be also travelling to Australia. Of course I said Yes! Both couples were married on different days at a spectacular Penthouse Suite in St Kilda Road. I was privileged to witness a Tea Ceremony and listen to a very moving speech from one of the groom’s older brother on behalf of their deceased father. The second wedding was probably the fastest wedding I have ever performed - they had been together for many, many years and therefore wanted it as short and sweet as possible, this did not detract from the beauty of the moment and of course the celebration of love for them.

People want different things for their Special Day and I always say “this is your day - no one elses, so go for it , I am here to make it what you want (within reason of course - no jumping out of planes for me!).
