Full on Fabulous February!
What an amazing headspinning month for me! Beautiful couples, beautiful locations and I am not finished yet with another tomorrow. This month has taken me from a Yarra Valley winery (Wild Cattle Creek) for a rehearsal and a wedding to Portsea on the beautiful beach for a rehearsal and a wedding to another rehearsal in Devon Meadows to a family home for a wedding I am performing tomorrow,
Well Wild Cattle Creek, what a day, what a scorcher of a day! 38 degrees in the full sun, I thought I’d melt, but what an amazing wedding, such an abundance of beautiful energies. My groom was nervous, bless him, and he decided to stay with me rather than pre-greeting guests (which was lovely for me as we had time to further chat). The day was hot and as us celebrants are all fully aware preparation is the key! I check. check and check again. Tested well before the bride’s arrival and BAM my microphone receiver (the only battery not rechargeable) failed just as the bride was ready for her procession!!!! But as all good celebrants know Preparation Prevents Poor Performance, so I ran for my spare batteries and whew we were back on track within minutes. There was not official photographer so I was more than happy to assist with the group shot from the balcony. The bride and groom and all concerned were such treasures, including the staff at Wild Cattle Creek in Seville. One for the memory books! I call her my Angel Bride
Now my first Beach Wedding for what I like to call a “fairytale wedding”. This couple held so much hope of having a beach wedding and their history with the location in beautiful Portsea was integral in choosing this location. When I first met this couple and started interviewing them I was blown away by the lengths this young man put into his “proposal” which was recounted in their story full of romance and laughter. The day began with rain and wind and more rain and more wind and then a sprinkling of rain! I contacted my couple and they were prepared to put their faith in the hands of the Gods. And once again in true Melbourne Weather Style it changed the sky parted and the sun showed up in full glory. The only glitch was the tide (we had researched) was coming in steadily and because of the wind was coming in faster than anticipated so we moved the ceremony up the beach to a clearer stretch of sand. The guests were a little concerned that if they came down to the beach they may not be able to get back, but with some encouragement from the groom it all went well. The bride was radiant and her hair was done like Elsa from Frozen. What a beautiful ceremony, and the tide held back and with their first kiss it kissed their feet.
I will post after my Fabulous February Family home wedding tomorrow.
